Natural Hair Do's and Don'ts

Natural Hair Do's and Don'ts

Do finger detangle first

Finger detangling curls before a detangling tool is crucial because it helps get out all the tiny and hidden knots a comb or brush would rip. Finger detangling helps eliminate breakage, unnecessary tears, and pain in the detangling process.

Do NOT detangle from roots to ends

Detangling from roots to ends creates a lot of tension and pressure on the scalp causing it to be sore. The roots to ends motion also allot more tangles at the middle and end of the hair shaft, leading to breakage.

Do detangle from ends to roots

After finger detangling, starting at the ends of your little one’s hair can help you gently unravel knots without causing more. Holding the hair tightly while detangling from ends to roots also relieves pressure and tugging from the scalp.

Do apply products in sections

Adding products in sections ensures that your little one’s curls get the accurate amount of moisture and even product distribution. Even product distribution allows the styles to come out consistent and moisture to lock into the hair strands.
